Humour is often the inspiration behind Fern’s pieces–a toothless grin, a laugh-lined face, a pot-bellied pose–character poses of everyday people just being themselves tends to be her inspiration. Her goal, although always to capture a true likeness, is also to capture the essence and unique spirit of the subject.
