Photographer/Mixed Media Artist
Karen Buck-Mackintosh graduated with a B.F.A. from Mount Allison University, Sackville, N.B. in 1981; and a B.Ed. from U. of T. in 1984.
Karen is a photographer/ mixed media artist. Her work draws inspiration from her personal environment and relationships in a manner that is often cathartic in nature.
Buck-Mackintosh has had solo exhibitions at the Women’s Art Association of Canada, Toronto 2020; the Kawartha Art Gallery, Lindsay 2019; and at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Oshawa 1995.
Her award winning work has been exhibited in numerous group and juried shows including the Belleville Art Association juried exhibition, Parrott Gallery, 2024; Quinte Arts Council International Women’s Day group show, Belleville, 2024; AGN juried show, Cobourg, 2024, 2022, 2020; Toronto's CONTACT Photography Festival; Durham Reach RMG 50th Anniversary group show, The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Oshawa; and ‘RMG Exposed’ photography auctions; Uxbridge Celebration of the Arts juried show, 2017, 2018.
Karen’s work is in the collections of The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Oshawa, Ontario; The Owen’s Art Gallery, Sackville, New Brunswick; and private collectors in Canada and the United States.
Karen Buck-Mackintosh currently lives in Madoc, Ontario and is a recent member of the Belleville Art Association.
